Up Up and Awai...
Im posting this because they were inspired by the four months I spent in Florence, Italy. Going abroad was something I was nervous about, but it ended up being one of the biggest learning experiences I’ve ever had. Not only did I learn so much about myself, other cultures, traveling, food, etc., I learned a lot about art and architecture, and learned an extremely useful technique of printmaking– Etching, Woodcut and linoleum cut. ETCHING IS INSANE. so many different effects that you can achieve and control over your lines its crazy. and with what??? ACID. like whaaaaaat. but seriously… the piece I made wasn’t amazing (not pictured…yet) but taught me so much about etching. I learned from my professor that, in fact, working into your copper plate and burnishing out lines makes the print more rare and increases its worth. who knew. Anyway, this piece is my favorite and made it to the Art is in the Streets art convention on Via Faenza, Firenze. enjoooooy
